Meet Some of Our Rescued Cats and Dogs

Unfortunately, we come across many animals in Sri Lanka that are in need of urgent care and have to be taken to an animal shelter.

Read here about some of the animals currently in our care:

Sudda

Sudda

Sudda was one of four pups dumped on a very busy road. The two survivors both ended up being named Sudda and were placed in lifelong foster homes that we help fund.

Alison

Alison

This happy soul used to live on one of our feeding rounds. Sadly, she was run over and was left with a broken spine. We funded all her X-rays, her veterinary treatment and now her boarding at a private shelter where she continues to shine. :-)

Ginger

Ginger

Ginger was rescued off the street years ago. After about 12 months he became unwell and was unable to pass urine. He has a build of crystals in his urine and requires a permanent special diet.

Stumpy

Stumpy

Stumpy was found by another rescue team on their outreach neutering program. She had an injured leg that needed to be amputated. This meant her survival on the streets as a tri-paw would be very dangerous. The original rescuers couldn’t keep her long-term so we found her a lifelong foster carer and we now cover all her costs.

Ricky

Ricky

Ricky was hit by a vehicle as a very young pup, his chances of survival on the streets were very slim. He was boarded at Best Care after the initial accident to assess the damage and long term implications of his injuries. He received in-house physiotherapy for approximately 4 months as X-rays revealed a damaged spine.
